About the Podcast
According to the Bible, the greatest commandment we’re given is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”1 But the second greatest commandment we’re given is just like it, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”2
Of course, it’s hard to obey either of these commands when we feel so divided by our differing opinions on political, social, and even spiritual issues. The controversial topics we see every day on the news (or read on social media) can get us stuck on what we think, or feel is right, instead of focusing on what is actually righteous—pulling us closer to God, and His truth. However, the God who created us “has given us everything we need for a godly life,”3 and, through His word, we can find the help we need to work through the issues in our own hearts.
The goal of T.W.O. LIFE is to shine God’s light on these issues to help us see things from His prospective. When we’re able to see His truth clearly, we’re also able to have hope in God’s promises, faith in God’s plans, and trust in God’s sovereignty. This perspective helps us to love God wholeheartedly and helps us to extend that same love to our neighbors—and even the people we considered our enemies.
Although he is new to the podcasting world, CJ’s love and passion for God’s word is evident in every one of his episodes. His podcast series “The Word on Life,” which focuses on seeing real-world issues through the perspective of the Bible, was founded out of his abundant love for God, and the hope he found through his personal study of the scriptures.
CJ’s love for God and the Bible began in 1983 while he was a student at the University of Cincinnati CCM, studying Music Education. During that time, he was able to examine the scriptures for himself, which led to his decision to become a Christian and get baptized on February 7, 1983. Since then, his faith has been tested, strengthened, and refined not only by the trials of life, but also by God’s word.
Over the last 35 years, CJ’s constant pursuit of the truth (found in scripture) has helped give him peace despite the chaos and controversy seen every day in the news. It is this same peace that he hopes to share with his listeners as he dissects the headlines.
